Let's talk about naps. The girls are 15 months now, and have been taking 2 naps a day. Recently, I've thought that they may want to go to 1 nap. So I tried that for a couple days. They were so tired by the time they had lunch. So I decided to try 2 naps again today. Went fine! They took two 2 hour naps! And Maya would have slept longer, but I woke her after a little over 2 hours. So I guess for now we will continue with the two naps. Please share your experiences! How did you know it was time to go to 1 nap?

MY JOURNEY TO A HAPPY HEALTHIER ME.... said...

Well with my experience in taking care of infants as a nanny (had two boys- they were a month apart in age)
we dropped down to 1 nap when they were closer to 2- but some days between the age of 16 mo and 2 years they would only take 1 nap- so it kind of depended on them and what activities we done that day- we started taking lots of walks with the double stroller when the boys wouldn't sleep in the afternoon, other days they crashed if they didn't have that 2nd nap and then they were really cranky because they got so tired and would fight sleep until evening. I hope this helps a lot- hard to believe that the girls are already 15 mo old- time sure flies! Sara

I think the true sign is that they start having issues with sleeping at night again.
